For a limited time, VE6LK and VE6TD are selling pre-built 4″ (100mm) long VK3IL v2 pressure Paddles with an integrated TRS jack at one end. It’s the long version of this board which fits nicely into your hand no matter what. They ship with a high-quality 4′ silicone cable with a 3.5mm TRS straight-through plug on one end and a 3.5mm right-angle TRS plug on the other end. We are the only place you can buy one of these pre-built in North America. If you would rather order a Kit, check out VK3IL’s blog linked above where he lists other places that sell Kits. We are not selling Kits, these are fully built.

The VK3IL v2 pressure Paddle is a Paddle key that relies on pressure to activate each contact; there are no moving parts unlike a conventional CW Paddle key. They will register a touch with as little as 60g/2oz. of pressure. They are excellent choices for SOTA and POTA as they weigh 1oz/30g including the cable.

They work with most radios contingent that the radio is providing 5V on the CW key port – not all radios do, eg. IC-705, so consult your manual before ordering. We are not responsible for determining if your radio is compatible and will not issue a refund if the key does not work with your radio. The VK3IL blog is a source of information about compatibility. Also of note, this key is suitable for dry weather operations only.

You’ll receive exactly the following:

• Pre-built Paddle with an integrated 3.5mm TRS jack
• 4′ silicone super flexible cable, one end with 3.5mm TRS right-angle plug and the other 3.5mm TRS straight plug giving you choices
• Wrapped in black heat shrink tubing, padded on one side for comfort
• Paddle is approximately 105mm (4″) long x 25mm (1″) wide x 9mm (5/16″) thick and weighs 32g (just over 1 oz.) with the cable as shown.
